Maffei Landscape Celebrates 15th Anniversary
JUNE 30, 2006 – Maffei Landscape Contractors, based in Mashpee, reaches a major milestone this summer with the commemoration of its 15th anniversary. Formed in 1991 by Robert Maffei, then a junior at Barnstable High School, the company is now one of the largest and most successful landscaping companies on Cape Cod, providing landscape design, maintenance and construction services to both individual home owners and large contractors on the Cape and South Shore.
“It’s been a whirlwind fifteen years and the growth has been phenomenal,” said 32-year-old Maffei. “We’ve come a long way since our humble beginnings in 1991 and I’m tremendously proud of the team of professionals representing the company today. We work hard to deliver an exceptional level of customer service to every client, large or small.”
Maffei Landscape has indeed grown leaps and bounds since the summer of 1991 when Bob Maffei teamed up with a few of his football teammates, convinced the janitors to let them photocopy some flyers on the high school copy machine and spent the summer cutting lawns for local homeowners. They worked out of Maffei’s 1986 El Camino and made a fairly impressive wage by high school standards. But even more significantly, Maffei recognized a potential for growth in the landscaping industry and never looked back.
Today Maffei Landscape employs close to 90 people, occupies a four-acre, brand new office complex in Mashpee, and includes a fleet of forty trucks. Clients include Willowbend, The Wequasett Inn, Ballymeade Country Club, The Pinehills, and hundreds of home owners from Plymouth to Provincetown.
“We do well because we deliver quality expertise in every facet of landscaping,” says Maffei. “We pride ourselves on providing ongoing training to our employees. They are undoubtedly our most valuable asset.”
