Sovereign Bank appoints new leadership for Cape Cod and Plymouth Regions
JUNE 14, 2006 – Sovereign Bank announced today its new leadership lineup to manage commercial and community banking activities in the Cape Cod and Plymouth, Massachusetts regions. Jack Meehl, senior vice president at Sovereign Bank, was promoted to regional president overseeing all banking activities in the area – including 20 branches and a team of six commercial loan officers. Meehl previously managed commercial lending for Sovereign in the Cape Cod and Plymouth regions.
In addition, the bank announced that Jennifer Dooling joined Sovereign as senior vice president and regional executive for community banking in the Cape Cod and Plymouth regions. Based in Hyannis, Dooling has total responsibility for the sales, service, and operations of all branches in these regions.

Before joining Sovereign Bank, Meehl was senior vice president of Business Banking at Abington Savings Bank. Prior to Abington Savings Bank he served as senior vice president and area manager for Fleet Bank. Meehl’s lending experience includes commercial and industrial as well as real estate development financing. Before joining Fleet Bank, he worked for the Bank of New England and Plymouth-Home National Bank.
Active in the community, Meehl is chairman of the board for the South Eastern Economic Development Corporation and Treasurer of the Plymouth Area Regional Chamber of Commerce. He is also vice chairman of the Plymouth Regional Economic Development Foundation, Inc. and a board member of the Plymouth County Development Council. Meehl is a graduate of Massasoit Community College in Brockton and Curry College in Milton. He resides with his wife and their children in Plymouth, Massachusetts.
A veteran banker on Cape Cod, Dooling most recently served as regional manager for Citizens Bank in the East Coast and Metro South regions. Previously she served as a branch manager for Citizen’s in Hyannis and Plymouth. Recognized for her dedication to customer service, Dooling received Citizen Bank’s World Class Performers Award for six consecutive years. Prior to joining Citizens Bank, Dooling was a branch manager at various Massachusetts locations for Fleet Bank.
An active member of the community, Dooling currently serves as a member of the Chatham Chorale. She also played an active role as the Citizens co-chair for the United Way Mass Bay Campaign. A graduate of the University of Massachusetts, Boston, Dooling resides with her husband and their three children in Marstons Mills, Massachusetts.
