Bourne Development Corp. elects officers and directors
New directors and officers of the Bourne Financial Development Corporation (BFDC) for the 2005-2006 year were elected at recent meetings of the Corporation’s members.
Newly elected to the board of directors were: Wesley Ewell, former town planner and member, Bourne Local Comprehensive Planning Committee; Christopher Farrell, chair of the Bourne Planning Board and Rick Gurnon, president, Massachusetts Maritime Academy.
Two directors were re-elected for three-year terms: Michele Ford, business manager, RE/MAX Bayside and Tom Moccia, president, Buzzards Bay Village Association, Inc.
Officers elected were: president, John Harding, owner, Harding Realty Corporation; vice president: Kenneth R. Sherman, S. F. S. I.; clerk: James R. McMahon III, attorney and treasurer: Lew Ferretti: Lewis C. Ferretti & Associates-Insurance & Financial Services
Elected at-large member of the executive committee: Barry Motta, superintendent, Upper Cape Cod Regional Technical School.
The Bourne Financial Development Corporation, an independent, non-profit organization, is a 501(c)(3) organization established by an act of the Massachusetts legislature upon a recommendation of Bourne Town Meeting. The BFDC mission is to promote the common good and general welfare of the town of Bourne and to improve the living standards of its citizens by fostering the improvement and development of employment and educational opportunities and increasing the town’s tax base.
A 15-member board of directors governs the BFDC, three appointed by the Bourne Board of Selectmen, the others elected by the BFDC members for staggered three-year terms.
